All manner of speakers have found their way onto TreeHugger pages including: hempcone, nontoxic, gourd and of course bamboo. Now audio giant Pioneer brings another novel eco-speaker into the mix - the Pure-Malt speakers made from made from 50-year-old white oak whiskey barrels. Gizmodo points out that chances are the material is more gimmick-y than green, but the Clean Japan Center still saw fit to award the speakers a resource recycling technology prize. ::Via Hardwarezone and Gizmodo ::Image from The Star Online.
