Mass produced rainbows might be one way of describing this product. If this poor befuddled brain is working properly, it seems you can change the viewing angle at which we perceive the colour of stainless steel. Cover it with a transparent film of metal oxide, some few microns thin, and voila!, new colours appear. All without the need of paint or pigment. Least, that’s what we think they said! Sounds all very clever but then they are a Japanese company. Aside from the cool SUSstain coasters pictured here, they also make unbreakable and recyclable mirrors and tiles.
