Bicycles are everywhere outside and now they are coming inside our homes too. These designers are recycling and redesigning bicycle parts to make cool and functional furniture.
This recycled bicycle chain spells out exactly what these hooks are for. Made from a real recycled bicycle chain with an antique-copper finish, it's an irresistible addition to a cyclist's hallway. What makes it extra nice is its provenance: created in a fair trade workshop called Noah's Ark, in Northern India.
This table is made out of chromed-steel bicycle rims. It's named after the S-2 rim found on Schwinn bicycle classics. It's contemporary, solid and would look good in any setting.
It's always nice to have a wall clock in this digital watch-less world. An upcycled bicycle wheel forms the basis for this one. But the creator also makes clocks out of old radios, guitars and record players that he has rescued. They have a nostalgic, retro look to them. He says: "Since childhood, I have been intrigued with investigating how mechanical objects work, dismantling things and putting them back together".
The bowl is made from recycled bicycle chain. With a good hefty weight so it won't slip around and a classic shape, it is perfect for your keys at the end of a busy day.
This lovely wallpaper is handprinted by Matthew Meadows . He "cuts blocks from large sheets of German lino and prints them in his studio".
