Strauss is a multimedia storyteller with 15 years of writing experience and a weakness for science. On Treehugger, she has focused on a wide array of topics, ranging from mapping out wilderness to replacing lawns with clover. Her work has been featured in numerous national publications, including The Atlantic, The Cut, New York Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, Reader's Digest, The Jerusalem Post, GOOD Magazine, and Popular Science.
Strauss studied English at Yale University and holds a Bachelors of Science in media from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
