How Green Is Your Takeout?

Of course the most TreeHugger answer would be "who does takeout?" However for those who do, Chow looks at common carriers and rates them from worst: (Styrofoam- "All research shows that Styrofoam becomes a permanent part of our environment after we use it.") through plastic, paper and cardboard, to the best- edible containers made from food (The bread bowl your chowder comes in, ice cream cones, tortilla bowls for taco salad.) inedible containers made from food, (Banana leaves holding your dim sum rice item or your Indian thali; the corn husk wrapped around your tamale. ) and, of course, bring your own. ::Chow
