There is the green modern prefab movement, the tiny house movement, and TreeHugger has always carefully watched the incipient prefab modern gingerbread movement. (see A Brief History of Modern Gingerbread Design) In keeping with the trending midcentury modern movement, the Los Angeles design Scout Regalia has introduced a Gingerbread Geodesic Dome Kit.
I am not certain that Buckminster Fuller would have approved; he ate only steak, prunes, jelly and strong tea. But it is a very efficient use of gingerbread, as geodesic domes are extremely economical in their use of materials. The kit from Scout Regalia costs $25, and includes a cardboard geodesic dome and a recipe for gingerbread.
