Urban Tree Harvest

Toronto has a lot of trees, and up to 9,000 of them die every year from disease, insect infestation, development and safety concerns. Urban Tree Harvest was formed to salvage, mill and resell it, keeping it out of the dumps where it rots. Some of these trees were well known to students who sat under them at York University or Upper Canada College- it is wood with history. Harvest house, a well-known producer of high quality, well made furniture, is a customer. Treehugger brownie points for this- Take a waste product and turn it into seriously added value, locally made, useful and elegant products. ::Urban Tree Harvest From the National Post, now fenced in so that you can't read it. by [LA]
