Derek raised some interesting points in his post 6 Overrated Technologies and Their Overlooked Alternatives. One was particularly controversial: Maps vs GPS. Maps are wonderful, often beautiful things; I have F*uck Yeah Cartography in my reader and look at them every day. They don't need batteries and don't cost hundreds of dollars.
On the other hand, they don't have a little pulsing blue dot to tell you where you are, and they don't have a zoom feature. Which do you prefer?
