But there's another app that released an improved version in 2017 that can add to the list of helpful tools -- Farmers Market Finder. The app so far lists over 2,500 farmers' markets, CSAs, open markets, and U-Picks across the US, showing where to shop for local eaters in California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The information about the markets comes from local, state, and federal organizers, so the information is up-to-date and accurate. It includes contact information for the individual markets. We love open-source projects that let people add in locations and information to round-out the items, but we can definitely see how an app like this benefits from using only verified info. The finds are displayed in map or list format, and you can mark your favorite spots. You're also shown info like parking availability and rain-or-shine notices when available. The only odd thing is we're told the app is free for some areas but as much as $4.99 for certain states. Why the price difference, we aren't sure.
