Many of us in Toronto are so wistful for the days of Mayor David Miller, he of bike lanes, Transit City, 5 Cent charges for plastic bags, green roofs and much more, including a sixty buck tax on licence plates that enraged the suburban driving crowd. He declined to run in the last municipal election and face the suburban backlash, so we got this guy.
Now, after a short career as an international business and sustainability counsel at a big law firm, He has a new gig as President and CEO of the World Wildlife Fund in Canada. He says in a press release:
Good catch for the WWF. Big loss for Toronto.
“I am delighted to join WWF Canada.” said David. “WWF is an organization with strong values that seeks solutions to our most pressing environmental challenges. It's science-based, principled, and has an enviable track record of building innovative partnerships to create those solutions.”
