Higher infant mortality leads to bigger families...The incomparable Swedish medical doctor and statistician Hans Rosling tackles a very perverse and tenacious myth about overpopulation: Is helping the poor by reducing infant mortality just going to cause overpopulation problems down the road?
Nobody makes statistics speak like Rosling, and here he gives a very lucid performance. Forward it to people you know that still believe in this misconception:History has shown this over and over again. In fact, all of the low-birth rate countries today used to have much higher birth rates. They only came down when people had better healthcare, better education, more opportunities, etc. That's what we must offer to everybody on this planet.
