Not so for Hungarian designer and graduate student Otília Andrea Erdélyi, who redesigned the egg container into something even more minimal, materially efficient but still visually appealing. © Otília Andrea Erdélyi Using a single piece of recyclable cardboard, Erdélyi's Egg Box ingeniously folds back in a way that both displays and protects the eggs. She writes thatMy goal was to design an innovative package using a small amount of material. [..] The eggs [are] placed into ellipse-shaped cuts. The consumer can get the eggs by the turning of [the] topside. © Otília Andrea Erdélyi © Otília Andrea Erdélyi © Otília Andrea Erdélyi Designed to be stackable, one can imagine small and simple ideas like Erdélyi's Egg Box making a huge difference if employed on a much larger scale -- not to mention the effort saved in being able to inspect your eggs at one glance.
