Travelbox puts an entire apartment's furniture, and a bike, in a box

One of the most popular posts ever on TreeHugger covered the Casulo, an entire apartment's furniture in a single box. Now Stefan Juust shows the Travelbox on Archdaily, adding a full size bicycle to the necessities of life.

Beside the bike, the travelbox includes a bed, table, chair and storage shelving, perfect for people on the move.

Rather than being dependent on continually purchasing new furniture in each of your destinations – an approach that is both expensive and environmentally wasteful - the Travelbox prioritizes quality and provides the opportunity for re-use. Through its long life, the Travelbox picks up the marks of its many resting places and becomes an essential component of the adventurer’s journey.

It's not small or light, at 209 centimeters (6.8 feet) in length, 125 centimeters (4 feet) in height, and 39 centimeters (1.3 feet) in width, weighing in at 60 kilograms (132 pounds). The proportions also don't look all that stable when it is standing on end.

I also wonder if it wouldn't have made more sense to put it on good casters and have the bike pull it as a trailer. Then you would have everything: your apartment in a box and the means to move it. Either way, it demonstrates that to some, a bike is as essential to urban life as a bed or a table. More images on Archdaily

Here is that Casulo, which was just sold on eBay for far too little money.
