James Murphy makes furniture out of woods like walnut and cherry. Nothing very sustainable about that, we hear you saying. Well, there’s more to the story: Jim’s wood supplier is a tree surgeon, which means that no trees were harmed in the making of this table. In fact, trees were saved, since they may have died without the surgeon’s handiwork. All the wood Murphy uses is from right here in the States, too. Much of the line, which will debut at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in May, has a cool Japanese-meets-Atomic-Age look—to your left, we have Flight Deck; below (in the extended post), a couple of other tables. Stools, cabinets, and other items are also available, priced at $2,000-$6,000 USD direct from the designer at ::James Murphy Design [by KK]
