HauteGREEN 2007 Sneak Peek: Anthony Brozna's Paperstone Chair

Born from the desire to explore a new material using traditional methods of joinery and fundamental design principles, Anthony Brozna's Paperstone Chair is the latest entrant in our HauteGREEN 2007 Sneak Peek series. Constructed from FSC-certified Paperstone (100% post consumer recycled paper & cashew oil binder -- used most often for countertops), storm-felled, air dried ash, mineral oil and linseed oil, the chair is routed, sanded and glued without mechanical fasteners. The design philosophy and austere materials work together well, creating clean, well-manicured designs whose elegance comes from the careful preparation of beautiful (eco-friendly) materials. Brozna's dedication to these philosophies, and green in general, prompted him to open the Eco Supply Center, a green building materials store, in Richmond, Virginia. If you can't make it to Richmond anytime soon, see more of the Paperstone chair at this year's HauteGREEN exhibition in New York, or at his website. ::Anthony Brozna and ::HauteGREEN
