The Green Energy Stock Challenge

zap_xebra_electric_car_stud.gifDo you scrupulously follow the news of new and emerging companies in the "green energy" sector? Do you know a thing or two about the stock market? If you've got the skills to pay the bills, you may want to enter the Green Energy Stock Challenge. The contest, which begins on June 19th, involves creating a virtual portfolio of renewable energy and green technology companies, and then trading these faux equities to increase your portfolio's value. While you won't make any actual money from your green financial acumen, the Challenge, along with its partners RenewableEnergyStocks.com, EnvironmentStocks.com and GreenTechInvestor.com are offering some pretty cool prizes for the traders that create the largest paper profits: the first place prize is a Zap Electric Car (shown on the left), while ten runners-up will win MicrocapTrade MicrocapFeed Individual Accounts, and the trader just below them wins a Zap Electric Scooter. The list of companies in which you can invest looks pretty thorough, and contestants can suggest others that meet the Challenge's criteria. The contest runs for two months, and is free to enter. :: Green Energy Stock Challenge via Cleantech Blog
