"Survivorman" Goes Off the Grid

Thanks to reader Albert Gibson for tipping us off to a new project by Les Stroud, star of the Science Channel (US) and Outdoor Living Network (Canada) television show Survivorman. According to Les' web site:

While renegotiating doing another season of "Survivormanâ„¢", Les Stroud is producing two one-hour specials for Canada's OLN (Outdoor Life Network) called "Stroud... Off The Grid". This new and captivating show will highlight Les' family's move to their 150 acre bush lot with solar power, rain harvesting systems, and many new technologies for living an energy-conscious and self-sustaining life. "Stroud Off the Grid" episode 1 will premiere in Fall 2006.
Of course, off-grid living is nothing new for Stroud: the documentary Snowshoes and Solitude followed Les and Sue Jamison's year-long 1994 sojourn in the Canadian wilderness in an attempt to replicate life in North America 500 years ago. ::Official Les Stroud Site
