In his post Ask Pablo: Do $1 Coins Have A Smaller Footprint Than $1 Bills?, Pablo wrote "The bottom line is that virtually no one wants heavy coins weighing down their pockets and purses, as is evidenced by the growing stockpile of unwanted coins in the US Mint's vaults." Being from Canada, I thought really? We love our loonies and toonies. A few coins in my pocket can pay for transit, parking meters, the car wash, it's totally convenient. One coin in my pocket gets me a shot of espresso during my morning run. Is this just an American thing?
