If you're at the local Starbucks and find some knowledge dropped on you about atmospheric CO2, look no further than the good folks at the GOOD integrated media platform. "CO2 World" is the first of a series of infographics that are being called GOOD Sheets and began appearing at Starbucks stores last week. While the organizers behind the 350 campaign welcome the beautifully designed poster chock full of data, they however have a few qualms about the use of a skull-and-crossbones icon and the omission of some possible next steps to take in the fight to stem global warming. The Climate World GOOD Sheet is proof that the 350 meme is spreading like hot cakes with organic Vermont maple syrup on top; in a column labeled "The Bad News" reads this tasty tidbit:

The safe level of CO2 is no more than 350 parts per million.

skull and crossbones safe level atmpspheric CO2 350 parts per million we are currently at 385 ppm good sheet starbucks image
This fact about the most important number on earth, unforch, is written underneath an icon depicting skull and crossbones.'s response is that while true that an unstable climate has caused misery and death, the number 350 is actually a beacon of hope and life. As I've pointed out before, the 350 campaign is potentially going to be quite effective because unlike say the Step It Up campaign, which was focused on the scary image of a world after sea level rise, 350 provides the entire planet with a mantra through which to channel our positive thoughts and actions.

350's last bit of constructive criticism:

In the "Now What" column, the infographic tells us to "Take Public Transportation" and "Recycle. " Good steps, surely, but where's "Organize," "Vote," or "Build a Global Movement." Or even: "Signup on and tell all your friends."

GOOD founder Ben Goldhirsh is promoting the Climate World GOOD Sheets using both Starbucks social web sites, My Starbucks Idea as well as Starbucks V2V (volunteer to volunteer) Network.
