The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is holding a pre-holiday swap meet tonight. Of course the exchange and reuse of items is a better idea than letting good stuff going to waste or tossing it into the landfill. Plus it just might be a great way to find that holiday gift you're looking for. Also, the event is tied-in with innovative projects like "Green My Bodega" and "Underground Library."All proceeds will go toward keeping NYFA Current, the New York Foundation for the Arts' online arts magazine, a stable, sustainable program. Jeff Hnilicka of FEAST (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics) will emcee. FEAST is a reoccurring dinner that drums up funds for cool projects such as Green My Bodega which aims to connect new york delis with local farmers and CSAs in order to provide communities with fresh, local produce; and Underground Library, aimed at resuscitating the literary community through DIY verve through hand-crafted books that are passed along based on close relationships.
