So I was enjoying a recent post on a Zombie app that motivates runners. It's an audio experience. You can hear them coming. But someone else has come up with a real-life experience. A running club that features hungry zombies that chase you. And off we go.
The Zombies, Run! app, which I immediately likened to workout fitness program Zumba (my wife's thing), was written up by Melissa. The Zombie running club/experience is called Run For Your Lives. It's a "A Zombie-Infested 5K Obstacle Course Race."
This looks like an apocalyptic version of flag football. Here's how it works:
Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health. The zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains. If you lose all your health flags, you die. And the zombies win. Health bonuses will be hidden throughout the course. If you find one and carry it to the finish, it will save your life.
To anyone who thought the zombie craze was unhealthy, think again. Just don't think too hard. Don't want to use your brain too much. Brain fumes?
Zombie runs have already been organized in a dozen states, with more to come. The virus is spreading, as they say.
