Magical wintry landscapes show what fairytales are made of (video)
Castles, frozen lakes and steam trains in the snowy forest star in this stunning 97-second drone film.
Filmmaker Joshua Cowan traveled to Europe and made a fairytale.
"In January i took a road trip through Europe visiting mountains, frozen lakes and steam trains in the forest," he says. He also filmed them, and the fruits of his labor can be seen in the achingly beautiful 97-second short film called Alpine Adventure.
Glimpses of southern Germany, Austria, and northern Italy reveal a winter wonderland so picturesque it's hard to believe it's real. And to top it all off: Vistas of Neuschwanstein Castle, the princess castle perched atop a hill in the Bavarian Alps. While the castle never actually housed a royal family – it was commissioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, who died before its completion in 1886 – it was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty castle. The stuff of dreams ... and living happily ever after.
