Living With Ed Win Environmental Media Association Award

We at TreeHugger think HGTV's show 'Living with Ed' has great potential to educate about green lifestyles, and we met up with Ed Begly earlier this year for an interview. This week we were pleased to learn that the show won an Environmental Media Association Award for best Reality Primetime Program.

Living with Ed, the series that takes viewers into the lives of six-time Emmy nominated actor and environmentalist, Ed Begley, Jr. and his actress wife, Rachelle Carson took home the Environmental Media Association Award (EMA) on October 24th at the historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. The Award was accepted by his wife Rachelle and the show's Creator and Co-Executive Producer, Joe Brutsman. Apparently, just minutes before the Award was presented, Begley had to exit to catch a plane for Florida where he will begin filming a movie for HBO... tut tut ..surely he could have investigated more environmentally responsible methods of transport between Los Angeles and Florida?

The episode of Living with Ed that won the EMA honors was "Point/Counterpoint", beating out episodes of other popular programs, Pimp my Ride, Project Runway and This Old House. Living with Ed is currently in its second season and can be seen on HTGV on Monday nights at 10:30 pm. The 2007 EMA Awards will be broadcast on E! at the beginning of November.
