Good Message + No Waste = Beach'n Ads

I like adverts and even put the best of them in the category of Art. (Ever seen what Mucha did with Sarah Bernhardt?) But mostly, they are just paper and ink, transitional, barely there before they are waste. In steps Beach'n Billboard with an idea I tip my hat to: Ads imprinted in the sand as the beach cleaner goes over the beach at night are credited with reducing litter by over 20% at municipal beaches. Beach'n Billboard promotes sponsorship of the cleaning and greening of the public space, and requires that sponsors' ads include the message: Please don't litter. Still doesn't beat a virginal strand sculpted by wind and waves, but where do you find one of those within driving distance on a hot metropolitan afternoon? [by © Christine Lepisto, 2005]
