From Glee gum to Honda's Insight, more than 300 exhibits of green goods and services will be displayed under one roof at the Go Green Expo this weekend in Los Angeles. Open to the public, January 24-25 and Friday for B2B. The floor is jammed with new earth-friendly products along with speakers, seminars, and films. Free yoga, poi dancing, food samples, and live music. Want to green your pet, a green job, and half-off admission?Event keynotes are by actor/activist Ed Begley Jr. of Living With Ed on Saturday and Mariel Hemingway, author of Healthy Living from the Inside Out on Sunday. Other speakers covering the full-range of green-oriented topics, from wellness to eco-tourism, and clean energy, include Sophie Uliano of Gorgeously Green and sustainability consultant John Picard, founding member of the US Green Building Council on the latest exciting developments.
Besides panels and demos, the Blue Planet Film Fest will screen a series of great shorts and features, such as the documentary on the Dervaes' homesteading garden "Homegrown Revolution," "Perchance to Dream" about Miami's Seaquarium orca, Lolita, and "Tapped," an expose about the bottled water industry.
Paul Pelosi Jr. (Senator Nancy's son) and head of San Francisco's Commission on the Environment, will speak on green jobs at 5 pm Saturday. An all-weekend Career Fair will be ongoing onsite, with solar companies and Edison hiring, so if seeking a job, bring copies of your resume. Aisles will display organic and recycled apparel, healthy personal care products, non-toxic home kits, artificial grasses, and energy auditors. Water-wise, there are stainless bottles, non-toxic baby bottles, and Kangen water--a Japanese water technology that turns acidic, contaminated and chlorinated tap water into alkaline balanced agua.

The Convention Center is one of the first such venues in the US to be awarded LEED certification. The Expo offers Ride Amigos, an online ridesharing transportation solution for events using hybrid vehicles. Launched in 2008, the organization's Go Green events utilize green practices such as biodegradable trash bags and compostable banners to reduce waste.
