BrianIdaho is questioning the wisdom of his local farmers' markets:
The vast majority of vendors delivered their products in pick-up trucks. Using an average fuel economy of 15mpg, that works out to 30mpg per 100 pounds of product delivered...So, my question is, in terms of fuel utilization and CO2 emissions at least, are farmer's markets really "green", or do they just make us feel good?
