Feel like voting for a good idea and helping to make it happen? Dream Village has come up with a great idea for writing inspirational true-story books for kids that get them revved up about social change and environmental activism. The organization is a nonprofit that raises funds for activism, which the kids who read the books can decide how best to use.
They need your vote to win funding for their project. Read on to find out a little more and vote.
DV combines picture books with an interactive website to educate children about important social, economic, & environmental issues. Best of all, the children choose where proceeds are donated. With DV kids learn, interact, and then affect real-life positive change.
Their books are really cool, and the first is already drawn up. From GlobalGiving:
One of the first books in the series will feature a popular GlobalGiving project,PlayPumps International which installs a merry-go-round water pump to provide clean, fresh water to communities in need. Told from a child’s perspective and complete with full color photographs and illustrations, the book will tell the story of Spontania, a township in Mozambique, which benefited greatly from the implementation of the PlayPump Water System.
You can vote for their project at IdeaBlob and help them to gain the funding needed to move forward with their very cool project.
