CC BY 2.0 Lloyd Alter/ book with lots of post-it notes.

In a recent post, Katherine quoted a study that claimed Readers absorb less on Kindles and iPads than when they read on paper. A few years back, Jaymi wrote that it's faster to read paper books than e-books, study shows. In both posts, there is controversy in the comments.

I'm with the complainers; I have to read books for a living, doing reviews. I find e-books faster and easier; I can adjust the type size and I can annotate and bookmark it really easily. Look at the paper book I am reading now; it's a mess of expensive disposable post-it stickers. Primitive and slow and it certainly isn't green. I know where I am voting, what about you?

A recent post that claimed readers absorb less from e-books. I wonder (and so do many commenters) if that's really true.
