From April 8 to 13, Buenos Aires hosts its biggest annual design fair, Puro Diseno. For the first time, this event presents a green section with responsible designers as one of its main attractions.
The space, called Verde (Spanish for ‘green’) will have six Argentine brands that are working with different approaches to responsible design. Our previously featured Minima Huella, Vacavaliente and Neumatica, and three new labels: Indarra DTX, Gruba, and Aluminium. The first focuses on intelligent clothing with engineered materials, and makes unique pieces identified with a serial code. Gruba works with recovered materials, but unfortunately we’ll have to wait until the exhibition to find out more. Finally, Al-Uminium produces accessories with repurposed metal from aluminum cans.
These brands’ products will be exposed in a special space located in the fair’s main hall with an allusive decoration (that is, green, of course).
Puro Diseno fair has already presented some green designers in the past (which we’ve covered here and here), but never before with a special segment oriented to teach the audience about responsible practices.
Apart from the responsible section, the fair will feature a selection of new Argentine talents that were picked by achieved creators.
The fair is open from April 8 to 13, between 1pm and 10pm, at La Rural convention center (2704 Sarmiento st., subway Plaza Italia). Entry is 15 Argentine pesos (around 5 USD).
