Children that grow up green are more likely to pass that knowledge on to their children and Earth Day is the perfect opportunity to instill some great green info. This Earth Day was no exception, with kid-friendly activities in South Carolina.South Carolina was host to a number of kid-friendly Earth Day activities. From noshing on organic pizza to story telling, and listening to green tunes, there was plenty of ways for the kids to celebrate the planet throughout the state.

A Little Earth Day Party
KD's Treehouse in Columbia, S.C. organized this event Saturday, April 18 from 10 am to 3 pm. The party educated kids in the importance of getting involved in a greener community. Kids were amused with interactive science experiments, arts and crafts, story telling, music, and organic pizza. And admission was even free.

Earth Day Music Fest and Expo
The Wellness Council for South Carolina, Surfrider Foundation, and Compassion Music hosted this year's 2nd Annual Earth Day Music Fest & Expo on Saturday, April 18th at Grand Park at Market Common in Myrtle Beach. The event drew the whole family in an area not known for being green but with awesome weather, tons of community participation, and no cost for admission, families from all over the state turned out. Kids could take art classes or play in the inflatables.

Plan Your Own Earth Day Kid's Fun
Enroll your kids in a nature class. Both the summer and after school programs can teach children to notice the biodiversity around them while giving them a touchstone for understanding the sciences. A wide variety of programs at the Coastal Carolina State Park enroll children as young as two years old.

Head out to your favorite local farms and introduce your kids to the farmers. Have them ask questions about the way things are grown and what grows well in their area. This is also an awesome opportunity for you to get to know your local farmers so you can ensure you're buying the best Mother Nature has to offer. Pick Your Own can find you a local farm in your area to visit.
