Van Jones, former Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, was famously forced out of the Obama Administration after being smeared by Glenn Beck on the talk show host's nightly show. Beck is now out at Fox but before he goes, Jones, speaking at the progressive conference Netroots Nation, challenged him to a debate. In the video, an emotionally charged Jones said he has had enough of Fox's biases and attacks, and is ready to stand up to the news outlet. But in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr., Jones warned the crowd against hating anyone, even those who have so viciously attacked him. Even after a 'two year unmitigated smear campaign," Jones warned Fox not to mess with "his values."
Stay tuned to see if Beck accepts Jones' challenge of a "battle of ideas" and if he does, if it is in the same spirit of love.
