Despite the ongoing tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska's congressional delegation is backing Shell Oil's bid to explore oil in the waters of the North Slope this summer.
This week at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon in Anchorage, Alaska Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich spoke about the importance of drilling saying "To consume, we must produce from our own land." Representative Don Young added that while the Gulf of Mexico leak is a tragedy he doesn't believe it has reached the level of a disaster.
Disaster or not, Shell hopes to avoid a similar tragedy by doubling efforts to test its underwater well-control equipment.
DarkLord submitted a NewsLite story about KFC's new Double Down sandwich. Instead of messing around with all that useless bread they've replaced it with two fried chicken breasts.
That's right, two chicken breasts, two pieces of bacon, two slices of cheese. It's like all the farm animals got together and decided to have a holocaust for your mouth. Last year KFC tested the sandwich in Rhode Island and Nebraska and say it was such a hit they decided to release it nationwide. Their slogan...It's so meaty, there's no room for a bun.
But they're thinking about changing that to, It's so meaty there's only room for diabetes...kinda rolls off the tongue better don't you think?
