TckTckTck, a global alliance of over 200 nonprofit organizations, just launched a new digital technology that combines "deep zoom" imagery with a social media uploader so people can create collaborative mosaic images online. The first image is called mosaic:EARTH and it was launched in tandem with the debut of Harmony a film inspired by Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales. As you zoom in and out of the image, you can see that it is made up of thousands of photos and videos, all of which answer a simple question—what inspires you to make a difference in the world?

Uploading takes just a second and doesn't require registration. You just click the "Tell the World' button, select an image, add a description, click the big orange "FINISH" button then share your mosaic tile with your friends. For a limited time you can also win a special pre-loaded Harmony iPad that includes digital books, apps for green living, and more.

For those who want to start making a difference now, there is a link which takes you to a page of current actions run by TckTckTck's nonprofit partners.

The goal of mosaic:EARTH is to give expression to the growing sustainability movement and to encourage, as Prince Charles says, a new way of looking at the natural world and our place within it.
