New York Legislators have until June 20th, the end of the session, to vote on a numerous amount of bills. Many of the others, such as gay marriage, have been getting signifcant more press attention. Still, the New York Solar Jobs Act deserves more ink because it could dramatically change the energy landscape of New York. Since Thursday, Times Square has been lit up with a digital billboard featuring New Yorkers calling on New York State Legislators to pass the New York Solar Jobs Act of 2011 (S. 4178/A.5713) and bring to the state the many benefits, environmental and economic that it will bring. Although New York State may not be the first place that comes to mind when one thinks of solar. One usually thinks of California or other places known for abundant sunshine.
