First, she commanded us to 'put a ring on it." Now she's instructing us to "Move Your Body." OK, Beyonce, for you, anything. Beyonce, the soulful popstar and bombshell has contributed to First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign to end childhood obesity by reworking her song "Get Me Bodied" into a workout anthem for today's youth.
The video will be used during a "dance-in" at middle schools across the country on May 3. Check out the "Let's Move" website for helpful tips on diet and exercise to learn more about the scourge of childhood obesity.
From the site:
Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. The numbers are even higher in African American and Hispanic communities, where nearly 40% of the children are overweight or obese. If we don't solve this problem, one third of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives. Many others will face chronic obesity-related health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and asthma.
