Yesterday, it was unbearably hot in New York City. I can attest to that, having spent an hour or so in the blazing heat at an anti-cap and trade Tea Party rally (don't ask). Evidently, it was hot in other parts of the nation as well. As in, record-breakingly hot. Climatologist Heidi Cullen tweeted out a link to HAMweather's temperature map for yesterday, June 8th. According to data collected there, 310 cities across the nation set records for hottest temperatures ever recorded.
And today, at least in New York, it's even hotter.
