“Saving My Tomorrow” is a family-friendly documentary about kids helping the planet

HBO documentary “Saving My Tomorrow”

The family-friendly HBO documentary “Saving My Tomorrow” airs tonight, starring a group of kids who are helping the environment. Presented by HBO Documentary Films and The American Museum of Natural History, the special is a kind of variety show of messages from young activists, musical performances and science.

The documentary is not short on parent-pleasing celebrities, such as Neil deGrasse Tyson, Alan Cumming, Susan Saradon, and Jeffrey Wright. Tina Fey narrates a story about Monarch butterflies, before we learn from a little boy about he and his mother are working to help this beautiful insects in their own garden.

“Saving My Tomorrow” also gives us a behind-the-scenes peek at at some of the The American Museum of Natural History, guided by the scientists who work there.

Tonight’s showing (7:00-8:00 p.m. ET/PT) is the debut of a four-part series, which will continue on Earth Day, April 22. Find out about additional show times here.
