Helping to open up West Coast Green is San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed.
San Jose is a city on its way to becoming the most sustainable city in the nation through its Green Vision plan. Mayor Reed is highly involved in making San Jose stand out through meeting its goals, and hosting West Coast Green is just one action. WCG brings visionaries from all over into a location that wants them to set up camp. New businesses, new products, new technology are all welcomed with open arms, and hope to find a home here in the city.
If we're going to be the leader in clean tech innovation, we have to be the best place in the world for [green] companies to stay and grow...We want to be the clean innovation center of the world. - Mayor Chuck Reed during West Coast Green speech
In Mayor Reed’s address, he elaborated on San Jose’s Green Vision, including its drive to run entirely on renewable energy, to recycle 100% of its water, and alter the livingscape to make walking and mass transit the easy and more desirable norm. Promoting San Jose as thee place to be for green businesses will help accelerate the city towards its 2022 deadlines.
San Jose Is Just One of Many Cities Making Moves
Competition between San Jose and San Francisco is fairly fierce, with both mayors vying to get the best new clean tech and green businesses to call their cities home. Either area – any area – in which they choose to set up is great news for California, our nation, and our world.
