New Home Biochar Kits From re:char Also Support Kenyan Farmers

A quick nod to biochar and the DIY spirit: You can now get a home pyrolyzer from re:char. Full disclosure: re:char's Jason Aramburu has been a guest poster for TreeHugger.

Based around a repurposed 55 gallon metal drum, the kit, dubbed the Climate Kiln, "will process yard trimmings, cardboard, wood chips, bamboo, dried grass, leaves, crop waste...and convert it into a rich carbon-negative nutrient sponge."re:char says, "every pound of biochar you incorporate into your yard takes three pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere" and stores it in the soil for 1000 years.

Each Climate Kiln purchased funds donation of another kiln to Kenyan farmers.
