Claire Carroll is a writer and SEO specialist, with technical and editorial research experience.


Claire started her career as a software engineer, working at IBM and teaching introductory programming to undergraduates. After a stint at Accenture in technical consulting, Claire worked in product and content marketing at a machine learning company in New York, where she spearheaded technical research projects. She then freelanced for ThoughtCo and sustainable shipping companies, where she researched electric trucking technology and methods for reducing the emissions caused by idling.

In addition, Claire is an herbalist and has apprenticed at an herbal medicine farm in the Hudson Valley, where she harvested plants and helped create natural beauty products.


At Yale University, Claire studied both Computer Science and English, with a focus on postcolonial literature and creative writing. She is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in creative writing at The University of St. Andrews.
