MTV Greens '$2 Bill Tour'

During the last several months, we have witnessed a growing trend in the music industry toward sustainability. Thanks in part to the example set by Willie Nelson, there has been a particular movement to minimize the carbon impact of touring, through the use of alternative fuels. Now those that used to set trends, such as MTV, are merely trying to keep up with the increasing overlap between sustainability and music. This was recently evidenced by the company's decision to power all the trucks and buses for its 27-city MTV2 $2 Bill Tour with biodiesel. Jared Leto, of the headlining band 30 Seconds to Mars, said: "taking this approach gives us the opportunity to set an example and share with others the possibilities of real alternatives for a safer, cleaner world".
