Fisker Karma and Karma S Plug-In Hybrid Luxury Cars
While we don't believe that everybody will start driving Teslas and Fiskers anytime soon, these cars are important because they're helping change the image of electric cars, and once that has happened and there's a bigger potential market, it's a lot easier for other automakers to invest in them (thus improving the tech, driving costs down, etc). That's far from perfect, but better than what we have now...
New 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid (3rd Generation)
Probably the most 'normal' car presented here, the new Toyota Prius nonetheless deserves a lot of credit for helping to kick-start the mainstream movement toward hybrid vehicles, which has made easier the coming transition to plug-in hybrids and electric cars. A lot of us are suffering from Prius fatigue, but sadly, even after all these years, it's still hard to find a real competitor to the Prius (SULEV emissions, 50 MPG combined, seats 5).
