Max is a student and Tanner Dean's Scholar at Cornell University majoring in English and Italian. Ever since he was a baby, he has spent a large portion of his summers at his grandparents’ cabin in the backwoods of Maine. There, he first began to appreciate the beauty of nature. An infestation of the invasive plant variable milfoil in a nearby lake soon sparked his interest in environmental science. Max began conducting research on invasive aquatic plants, mainly milfoil, in his sophomore year of high school and has volunteered with the STOP Milfoil Campaign in Belgrade Lakes, Maine since 2012.
