TreeHugger Welcomes Writer Kenny Luna

Kenny is an 8th grade science teacher from North Babylon, NY who has started a campaign called "Mr. Luna's Bright Idea!" to help stop global warming by giving every child in America just one compact fluorescent light bulb, and asking Oprah to help make it happen... So far, Kenny and his students have teamed up with The Home Depot to give every child in North Babylon one bulb, and are working to put together a nationwide campaign. He became passionate about the environment after reading the book Collapse by Jared Diamond, and then watching the devastating effects of hurricane Katrina. He's hoping to help educate kids across the country about global warming and the environment because he believes that it's crucial to our success in making the world a better and more sustainable place. If you'd like to join his campaign, if you have an idea that parents or teachers can use with their kids, or if you've heard about kids, schools, parents, and teachers that are already doing amazing things to help protect the environment and educate others about it, then feel free to reach him with the news at Kenny--@--treehugger--.--com (remove dashes) so that we can highlight some of those efforts here on Treehugger!
