Planet Green Launches Verge, an Exciting, New, Block of Programming

Watch more Verge on Planet Green.

Mavericks, Misfits and Innovators are on the Verge, on Planet Green. The new primetime programming block features passionate people inspiring positive change.Planet Green reports that:

The block will feature new and popular content portraying inspired, passionate characters and stories who are trying to making a difference—the renegades and visionaries who are on the verge of something new, something incredible and often something awe inspiring. Some succeed. Some don't. The entertainment is watching them try.

Leading the new lineup will be Future Food, an exciting series that combines science and gourmet cooking. Premiering on March 30, 2009, Future Food follows Homaro Cantu and Ben Roche as they use cutting-edge culinary techniques to produce food that is imaginative, amazing, and even more fuel efficient.

Then, an all-new season of Wa$ted!, featuring Annabelle Gurwitch, premieres. This season, Annabelle will work with families to find the source of their waste and ways to reduce it—saving money in the process.

Verge will also feature other Planet Green favorites including Operation Wild, Blood, Sweat & Takeaways, Conviction Kitchen, Living With Ed, The Alaska Experiment, and Planet Mechanics.

In addition to these great shows, Planet Green will also showcase 30 Days, the documentary experiment from Morgan Spurlock that challenges us to "live someone else's life from 30 days."

Then, in June, Verge will feature the premier of The Fabulous Beekman Boys. Watch as Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge leave their lives in New York City and start afresh on a small farm in upstate New York. Curious neighbors, cranky animals, and the difficulties of launching a new business just add to the fun in this irreverent series.

And this is just the beginning. Stay tuned to Planet Green for more exciting series.
