Convenient Truths: Sheryl Crow Touring for Climate Change Solutions

Celebrities are certainly doing their part to spread the word on the climate crisis; now, musician Sheryl Crow is contributing to the effort with an 11-date tour of college campuses. Crow and founder (and Convenient Truths judge) Laurie David will combine their talents with a program of information and music meant to encourage college students to get active, and do their part in the fight against climate change.

The tour will begin on April 9th with a show at Dallas' Southern Methodist University, and conclude on Earth Day (April 22nd) at Washington, D.C.'s George Washington University. Along the way, students will see a full program: a 90-minute presentation by David, music from Crow, clips from An Inconvenient Truth, comedy, and a dialogue with audience members. To keep its own carbon footprint down, the tour buses will run on biodiesel. While a national tour is an option for only a few us, many Treehugger readers have shown us their own efforts to stop global warming with their submissions to Treehugger and Seventh Generation's Convenient Truths contest. It's all over but the judging now, and the grand prize winner, along with second and third places, will be announced on April 19th. Guest judge Ed Begley, Jr., will make those final selections, and winners will enjoy impressive prize packages valued at nearly $30,000, which includes a copy of David's book Stop Global Warming: The Solution Is You!. While we don't know which videos will win, we do know which twenty, selected by Treehugger readers, are in competition. The excitement's building... make sure to check in on the 19th for the announcement!
