A year ago today Taras Grescoe, author of Straphanger, tweeted this message that summarizes just about everything that we have been saying about the future of the city; how young people are choosing smart phones over cars, how walkability and cyclability are key to sustainable urban design, all here in 140 characters. I thought it was so good that I put it on my desktop and have kept it there ever since.

Grescoe lives in Montreal, where they call the subway a metro. He also should have included walking, but perhaps he ran out of space. It still says it all.
