It's World Water Week which has been the annual focal point for the globe's water issues since 1991. Hosted by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), this year's theme is Water in an Urbanized World.

Given the fact that the urban population is estimated to be of the same size as the total global population today by 2050, and that around 95 per cent of the global population increase will be in urban areas, this is a biiiiiiiiig issue.

As part of the conference, the 'Water is Life' poster competition was held for students and young artists across the world. More than 5,000 designs were submitted by artists from 83 countries in response to the call. The theme was water and participants were asked to research the issue and develop their own artistic interpretations
