Floating Spaceframe Home by Copenhagen's N-55

Copenhagen artists and designers N-55 are known to TreeHugger readers for their walking house; now we belatedly learn from Dylan at Spacing about one of their earlier works, the Spaceframe floating house. As in all of their work, the artists provide a complete manual explaining the project.

The artists describe it:

The N55 SPACEFRAME is a low-cost, movable lightweight construction that can easily be transformed. It is dimensioned as a living unit for 3-4 persons and demands practically no maintenance. The construction can be erected by anybody in a short time.

It doesn't use a lot of material; the components for the space frame for the entire unit fit under this sofa.

If you don't want to put it on land, they have a floating base as well, with its own manual here.

In this era where so much is proprietary, it is always a joy to see work like that of N-55, where they are so eager to share their ideas. Collect all of their manuals at N-55
