2.3 Gigapixels of the Burj Dubai Stitched Together From 381 Images

We have certainly posted often enough about the World's tallest building, the Burj Dubai; Now we get to see it up close and personal. Gerald Donovan has created an amazing 2.3 gigapixel photo after shooting 381 pictures with his 21 megapixel Canon 5D Mark II camera, and spent a full week stitching them together into one giant image. Then he did a Camtasia capture scrolling around it and turned it into a video. Gerald pointed us to more information at Gulf Photo Plus.

Another, scarier video of Dubai, driving around the Burj, cranes on every single building in sight. It doesn't look real. One can only imagine what they could have built if they had put this much money and energy into building more slowly, carefully and sustainably. Found at Daily Dose of Architecture

For more Burj fun you can go to a still version that Gerald Donovan has uploaded and zoom around it yourself.
